Timely means that the data are received when necessary to be able to take quick action for correction. For example, if a gas line is leaking, it is not timely if you find out about it a year later. If an indicator is timely, it is designed to

  • collect the data when needed (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly)
  • warn if corrective action is necessary
  • be available to stakeholders when needed for their decision making
